When you have to make a long trek to get out into nature, there’s a good chance you’ll skip the outdoor adventure for something more manageable. The Kendrick Apartments in Needham, MA, makes that scenario moot, with unfettered access to the Charles River and a host of parks that make getting out into and enjoying nature really easy. View our interactive map and see everything nearby.
One thing you should consider on your expedition is preparation. Are you hiking, biking, or boating? Do you have the right stuff, e.g. clothes, gadgets, equipment? If so, great. If not, consider taking the quick 20-minute trip into Boston, where you can hit up REI, Patagonia, and The North Face stores all in one place, and procure the most stylish and sturdy, performance active wear and gear available. Now that you’ve got your Gore-Tex, let’s go.
The Kendrick is right on the Charles River, and rents kayaks and bikes to help residents take advantage of that fact without having to own the big equipment. (Though we do have extra storage for kayaks and bikes if you have your own.)
So, you’re set for kayaking down the Charles or biking in any number of parks and trails, like Cutler Park and Noanet Woodlands, both great spots for motorless, two-wheeled freedom.
One of the best parts about living at The Kendrick is that if you love getting outside, you don’t even have to leave the building. There’s so much to enjoy here that you can pre- or post-game your activities in one of the amazing active and fresh-air amenity spaces including the rooftop deck, the biergarten, the rock-climbing wall, or the spectacularly relaxing and energizing pool, courtyard, and cabanas.
